Prepare the xSeries server

You must turn the boot fail counter and virus detection off before installing this card.

Turn on the xSeries^® server.
When the IBM^® eServer™ logo appears on the display, press F1.
Select Start Options. Press Enter.
Select Boot Fail Count using the down arrow (↓) key.
Change the value to Disabled using the right arrow (→) key.
Select Virus Detection using the down arrow (↓) key.
Change the value to Disabled using the right arrow (→) key.
Press Esc to return to the main Setup menu.
If your xSeries server does not have a Remote Supervisor Adapter II, Remote Supervisor Adapter II EXA, or Remote Supervisor Adapter II SlimLine installed, skip to step 14.
Press the down arrow (↓) key to highlight Advanced Setup and press Enter.
Press the down arrow (↓) key to highlight RSA II Settings (or ASM Settings, on some servers) and press Enter.
Check the settings for the following fields and change them to match the values listed, if necessary:

If you change any settings, press the down arrow (↓) key to highlight Save Values and Reboot RSA II (or ASM) and press Enter.
Press Esc to return to the main Setup menu.
Press Esc to exit the Setup utility.
Select Yes from the Exit Setup display.
Turn off the xSeries server. Go to the information that you received with your xSeries server for instructions to turn it off.

Note: Do not change the remote signon default USER ID/PASSWORD (USERID/PASSW0RD) for the Advanced System Management hardware installed in the xSeries server or the server will not be able to communicate with the xSeries server. It is not recommended that the Advanced System Management hardware be permanently connected to a network, as it might interfere with the server's control of the IXA-attached xSeries server.
