Accessing the console service functions (65+21)

The console service functions (65+21) are standard control panel functions that you can access using the control panel, Operations Console, or the Hardware Management Console (HMC). If the server is connected to an HMC, then you should use the HMC to perform console service functions (65+21).

HMC

In the HMC graphical user interface, the console service functions (65+21) are located in the Service Focal Point menu. To access the console service functions (65+21) using an HMC, complete the following steps:
  1. In the navigation area, expand the managed system you want to work with.
  2. Expand Service Applications and click Service Focal Point.
  3. In the content area, click Service Utilities.
  4. From the Service Utilities window, select the managed system that you want to work with.
  5. From the Selected menu on the Service Utilities window, select Operator Panel Service Functions.
  6. From the Operator Panel Service Functions window, select the logical partition that you want to work with. This logical partition might be the only logical partition on your system.

    The Partition Functions menu on the Operator Panel Service Functions window lists the available console service functions and the available control panel functions.

Operations Console

Console service functions can be entered using any of the remote control panel connectivity options that provide a graphical user interface in Operations Console.

Control panel

Console service functions (65+21) can be entered at the physical control panel if the system is not connected to an HMC.
