Unlocking service tools device IDs in SST

This topic describes how to unlock the service tools device IDs using system service tools (SST).

By default, this option is locked to prevent unauthorized changes to existing service tools device IDs, the creation of new IDs, or the deletion of IDs. This procedure can only be performed in dedicated service tools (DST). To unlock this SST option, complete the following steps:

Note: If you receive the message, The user can not perform the option selected, this indicates that the option is not unlocked.
  1. Access Dedicated Service Tools (DST). This procedure can only be performed in DST.
  2. Select Start a service tool > Display/Alter/Dump > Display/Alter storage > Licensed Internal Code (LIC) data > Advanced analysis.
  3. Page down until you find the FLIGHTLOG option. Type a 1 next to the option, and then press Enter. The Specify Advanced Analysis Options window is displayed. The command displays as FLIGHTLOG.
  4. Enter the SEC UNLOCKDEVID option. To lock the Service Tools Device IDs menu, enter the SEC LOCKDEVID option.
