SUSE 9.0 ISC dhcp-server-3.0.1rc12-9.i586.rpm FAILS TO WORK CORRECTLY
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The package dhcp-server-3.0.1rc12-9.i586.rpm that is shipped with Suse 9.0
does not send a BOOTP reply to a client's ip address. The result is that
the client fails to receive the BOOTP reply and never installs.

To get around this problem, you must install an earlier version of the
dhcp-server. Version dhcp-server-3.0.1rc10-32.i586.rpm works correctly.

AIX CLIENTS THAT ARE INSTALLING DO NOT RESPOND TO ARP REQUESTS
--------------------------------------------------------------

When an AIX client is installing, it will not respond to arp requests. This
may cause the client to stop receiving the boot image half way through. If a
Linux gateway or NIMOL server attempts to send an ARP request to an AIX client
that is installing, the client will not respond and the install will fail.

The NIMOL server attempts to get around this by creating a static arp entry for
the AIX client while it is set up to install. However, if the client is on
a different subnet, this problem may also be experienced. It is recommended
that you create a static arp entry for the AIX client on the clients gateway.

_____________________________________________________________________________

ONLY AIX 5.3 CLIENTS ARE SUPPORTED
----------------------------------

NIMOL will only install clients with AIX 5.3 or greater resources. Previous
releases of AIX are not supported.

_____________________________________________________________________________

AIX CLIENTS MUST BE ON THE SAME SUBNET AS THE NIMOL SERVER
----------------------------------------------------------

NIMOL does not currently support the installation of AIX clients that are
on a different subnet than the NIMOL server.

REBOOTING NIMOL SERVER MAY STOP SERVICES
----------------------------------------

If you reboot the NIMOL server when a client is ready to install, you may
need to remove the client and set it up for an install again. After a
reboot run "nimol_install -l" to see if any clients are ready for an
install. If so, remove the client with "nimol_install -r -c <client>" and
run "nimol_install -c <client> ..." to set it up again. Running
nimol_install will start the required services.
