To perform the correct FSPSP27 for the system that you are servicing, select your machine type and model (system) from among the following:

8203-E4A, 9407-M15, and 9408-M25
  1. Was the FRU called out before this procedure a memory DIMM (Un-P1-C14 through Un-P1-C17 or Un-P1-C21 through Un-P1-C24) or a GX adapter card (Un-P1-C8 or Un-P1-C6)?
    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    Continue with the next step.
  2. Perform the following:
    1. Replace the system backplane (Un-P1).
    2. Perform a slow boot. See Performing a slow boot . This ends the procedure.
8204-E8A and 9409-M50
  1. Was the FRU called out before this procedure a Memory DIMM (Un-P1-C13-Cx or Un-P1-C14-Cx or Un-P1-C15-Cx or Un-P1-C16-Cx)?
    No:
    Go to step 4.
    Yes:
    Continue with the next step.
  2. Perform the following:
    1. Replace the processor card (Un-P1-C13 or Un-P1-C14 or Un-P1-C15 or Un-P1-C16) that the DIMM was plugged into.
    2. Perform a slow boot

      Does the problem persist?

      No:
      This ends the procedure.
      Yes:
      Continue with the next step.
  3. Perform the following:
    1. Replace the system backplane (Un-P1).
    2. Perform a slow boot. See Performing a slow boot .
  4. Was the FRU called out before this procedure a processor card (Un-P1-C13 or Un-P1-C14 or Un-P1-C15 or Un-P1-C16) or GX adapter card (Un-P1-C8 or Un-C1-C7)?
    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    Continue with the next step.
  5. Perform the following:
    1. Replace the system backplane (Un-P1).
    2. Perform a slow boot. See Performing a slow boot . This ends the procedure.
8234-EMA, 9117-MMA, and 9406-MMA
  1. 1. Was the FRU called out before this procedure a memory DIMM (Un-P2-C1-Cx or Un-P2-C2-Cx)?
    No:
    Go to step 10 .
    Yes:
    A memory DIMM attention line has an error. Continue to the next step.
  2. Replace the service processor (Un-P1-C11) from the same drawer as the memory DIMM.
  3. Perform a slow boot. See Performing a slow boot .
  4. Does the problem persist?
    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    Continue to the next step.
  5. Replace the processor card (Un-P2-C1 or Un-P2-C2) on which you previously replaced DIMMs.
  6. Perform a slow boot.
  7. Does the problem persist?
    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    Continue with the next step.
  8. Replace the system backplane (Un-P1) from the same drawer as the memory DIMM.
  9. Perform a slow boot.
  10. Was the FRU called out before this procedure a processor card (Un-P2-C1 or Un-P2-C2) or GX adapter card (Un-P1-C8 or Un-P1-C9)?
    No:
    Go to step 16.
    Yes:
    A processor card or GX adapter card attention line has an error. Continue to the next step.
  11. Replace the service processor (Un-P1-C11) from the same drawer as the processor card or GX adapter card.
  12. Perform a slow boot.
  13. Does the problem persist?
    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    Continue with the next step.
  14. Replace the system backplane (Un-P1) from the same drawer as the processor card or GX adapter card.
  15. Perform a slow boot. Performing a slow boot . This ends the procedure.
  16. Was the FRU called out before this the system backplane (Un-P1)?
    No:
    Contact your next level of support. This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    A P5IOC2 attention line has an error. Continue to the next step.
  17. Replace the service processor (Un-P1-C11) from the same drawer as the system backplane.
  18. Perform a slow boot. This ends the procedure.

  1. Was the FRU called out before this procedure a memory DIMM (Un-P2-Cx, where x = 1 - 64) or GX adapter card (Un-P2-C65 or Un-P2-C66)?
    No:
    Go to step 7.
    Yes:
    Continue to the next step.
  2. Replace the I/O backplane (Un-P1).
  3. Perform a slow boot. See Performing a slow boot .
  4. Does the problem persist?
    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    Continue to the next step.
  5. Replace the processor backplane (Un-P2).
  6. Perform a slow boot.
  7. Was the FRU called out before this procedure a processor (Un-P2-Cx, where x = 67 - 82) or processor backplane (Un-P2)?
    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    Continue with the next step.
  8. Replace the I/O backplane (Un-P1).
  9. Perform a slow boot. This ends the procedure.
9119-FHA
  1. Was the FRU called out before this procedure a memory DIMM (Un-Pm-Cx, where m = 2 - 9 and x = 1 - 36), a processor (Un-Pm-Cx, where m = 2 - 9 and x = 25 - 28), or GX adapter card (Un-Pm-Cx, where m = 2 - 9 and x = 37 - 40)?
    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    A Memory DIMM or Processor or GX Adapter Card attention line has an error. Continue to the next step.
  2. Replace both Node FSP Cards (Un-Pm-C41 and Un-Pm-C42, where m = 2 - 9) from the same node as the memory DIMM, processor, or GX adapter card.
  3. Perform a slow boot.
  4. Does the problem persist?
    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    Continue to the next step.
  5. Replace the processor book (Un-Pm, where m = 2 - 9) the memory DIMM, processor, or GX adapter card plugged into.
