A problem has been encountered accessing the VPD card or the data found on the VPD card has been corrupted.

This error occurred before VPD collection was completed. No location codes have been created.

  1. Power off the system. To review the "Powering on and powering off" procedure go Powering on and powering off
  2. Clear any deconfiguration errors for the VPD card.
  3. Perform the action indicated in the table below for your system.
    System: Action:
    8203-E4A, 9407-M15, and 9408-M25 Replace the VPD card (Un-P1-C11). Refer to System FRU locations to locate the correct system location of the part you are replacing. This ends the procedure.
    8204-E8A and 9409-M50 Replace the VPD card (Un-P1-C9). Refer to System FRU locations to locate the correct system location of the part you are replacing. This ends the procedure.
    8234-EMA, 9117-MMA, and 9406-MMA
    1. Replace all the service processors.
    2. Perform a slow boot.
    3. Does the problem persist?
      No:
      Go to Verify a repair . This ends the procedure.
      Yes:
      Replace the VPD card and continue with the next step.
    9125-F2A Replace the VPD card (Un-P1-C4). Refer to
    9119-FHA
    1. Replace both of the CEC service processor cards.
    2. Perform a slow boot.
    3. Does the error reoccur?
      No:
      This ends the procedure.
      Yes:
      Replace the VPD card (Un-P1-C1) and continue with the next step.
  4. Perform a slow boot. To review the "Performing a slow boot" procedure go to Performing a slow boot .

    No:
    This ends the procedure.
    Yes:
    Continue with the next step.
  5. Perform the action indicated in the table below for your system.
    System: Action:
    8203-E4A, 9407-M15, and 9408-M25 Replace the system backplane (Un-P1).
    8204–E8A and 9409-M50 Replace the system backplane (Un-P1).
    8234-EMA, 9117-MMA, and 9406-MMA Replace the system backplane.
    9125-F2A Replace the I/O Backplane (Un-P1).
    9119-FHA Replace the CEC midplane (Un-P1).
