One or both of the SMP cables connecting the system processor cards
on this system are incorrectly plugged, broken, or not the correct type of
cable for this system configuration.
Refer toSystem FRU locations for instructions
for removing and replacing any FRUs called out by the following procedure.
Perform
the following:
- Re-plug the SMP cables (P2-Cx-T1 or P2-Cx-T2) that connect to the
system processor cards.
- Perform a slow boot. See Performing a slow boot .
- Does the problem persist?
- Yes: Continue with the next step.
- No: This ends the procedure.
- Replace the SMP cables.
- Perform a slow boot. See Performing a slow boot .
- Does the problem persist?
- No: This ends the procedure.
- Yes: Continue with the next step.
- Perform the following for each system processor card:
- Power off the system (see Powering on and powering off the system
).
- Remove processor card one in the primary unit.
- Perform a slow boot. SeePerforming a slow boot .
- Does the problem persist?
- Yes: Reinstall the processor card you removed
and then repeat this step removing each of the processor cards, one at a time,
until all of the processor cards have been removed. Perform a slow boot after
removing each card. If you have removed the last processor card and the problem
persists, contact your next level of support.
- No: Replace the processor you just removed, it
is the failing FRU. This ends the procedure.
