Logical Partition Usage

This table lists the logical partitions that currently use the physical port that you select under Current Status.

This table contains the following information:

Logical Partition
This column displays the name of each logical partition that has a logical port connected to the selected physical port.
Logical Port ID
This column displays the ID of the logical port that connects the logical partition to the selected physical port.
Logical Port DRC Name
This column displays the location code that the logical partition can use to configure the logical port in the place of an actual physical location code.
Logical Port Burned-in MAC / User-defined MAC
This column displays the Media Access Control (MAC) address that is associated with each logical port by default (burned-in). If a different MAC address is configured for the logical port using the HMC command-line interface, the configured MAC address displays after the burned-in MAC address.
Capability
This column displays the capability level that you want to assign to the Logical Host Ethernet Adapter (LHEA) for the logical partition. The capability level determines the amount of additional resources that are assigned to the LHEA for per-connection queuing. Base minimum indicates that no additional resources are assigned to the LHEA for per-connection queuing. Low, Medium, High, and Custom indicate that resources in addition to the base minimum resources are assigned to the LHEA for per-connection queuing.
Allowed VLAN IDs
This column displays the IDs of the virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) in which the logical port is set to participate. This column can contain a list of up to twenty VLAN IDs separated by commas, or this column can contain Any to indicate that the logical port can participate in any VLAN.
Promiscuous LPAR
This column indicates whether the logical partition is the promiscuous logical partition for the selected physical port. If the physical port receives a unicast packet, and the Media Access Control (MAC) address on that packet does not match the MAC address of any of the valid logical ports for that physical port, the physical port forwards the packet to the promiscuous logical partition.
