Speed

Select the desired transfer speed for this physical port. You can set this field to Auto to have the HMC select the transfer speed automatically, or you can set this field to a specific transfer speed to have the HMC attempt to negotiate the selected transfer speed. If the HMC cannot negotiate the selected transfer speed, the HMC automatically selects a transfer speed that the physical port can support.

If you set this field to Auto, you must also set the Duplex field to Auto.

The transfer speeds that are available for selection here depend on the supported speeds on the physical port. For example, you can set the transfer speed of a 10 Gbps physical port only to 10 Gbps or Auto, while you can set the transfer speed of a 1 Gbps physical port to 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1000 Mbps, or Auto.

The HEA supports the following configurations:

• two 10 Gbps Ethernet ports (2 x 10 Gbps XAUI-XAUI interface as connection to external Physical Layer units)
• four 1 Gbps (Serdes interface)/10 Mbps/100 Mbps ports
• one 10 Gbps XAUI with two 1 Gbps/10 Mbps/100 Mbps ports
