Dynamic logical partitioning not supported
The logical partition does not support this dynamic logical partitioning operation. Possible causes are:
- The operating system does not support this type of dynamic logical partitioning operation. For example, Linux does not support the dynamic movement of memory.
- You have not installed the DynamicRM tool package on your Linux logical partition.
- Resource Monitoring and Control (RMC) is not running on the operating system of the logical partition.
- The connection between the HMC and the operating system of the logical partition is broken.
- The LAN is not configured to connect the HMC and the operating system of the logical partition directly together. (You might choose to configure your LAN in this way for security purposes.)
There are two different actions that you can perform here:
- Click OK if you intentionally configured the LAN to isolate the HMC from the operating system of the logical partition. Clicking OK continues the operation. If the operation completes successfully, you must restart the operating system before the change takes effect.
- Click Cancel to cancel the operation. You can then determine why dynamic logical partitioning does not work, fix the issue, and try again.
