I/O Adapters

This area lists the I/O slots that meet the selected filter criteria. The following information displays for each I/O slot.

Slot
This column displays the slot number that identfies the location of the I/O slot within the system unit or expansion unit.
Bus
This column displays the bus on which the I/O slot is located.
Unit
This column displays the system unit or expansion unit in which the I/O slot is located.
FRU
This column displays the Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) number for the I/O device in the I/O slot.
Owner
This column displays the name of the logical partition that currently owns the I/O slot.
Description
This column contains description of the I/O device in the I/O slot. If the I/O device is an I/O processor (IOP), this description is either PCI I/O Processor or I/O Processor.

If the slot is empty, this description is Empty slot.

Otherwise, the wizard uses the first description it finds in the following hierarchy.

The managed system updates the description only when the physical I/O device belongs to a running logical partition. This information might not be up to date if you remove the physical I/O device from the running logical partition or shut down the logical partition to which the physical I/O device belongs.
