Create virtual fibre channel adapter (client)

Use this panel to create a client virtual fibre channel adapter.

Enter the desired information and click on OK.

The following fields are displayed:

Adapter:

A slot number for the virtual fibre channel adapter will be displayed. You can use this number or enter a different slot number.

Type of adapter:

This displays the type of virtual fibre channel adapter. The value will be Client.

This adapter is required for partition activation.

This option indicates whether this virtual fibre channel adapter is required for partition activation. If this option is selected, then you can activate the logical partition only if the virtual fibre channel adapter can be used for the logical partition. Also, you cannot remove the virtual fibre channel adapter from the logical partition using dynamic logical partitioning.

Server partition:

This displays a drop-down list of server partitions (with port numbers in parentheses) with available virtual fibre channel adapters. Select the server you want from the list.

Server adapter ID:

This displays the server slot number for this adapter.
