Virtual Ethernet Adapters

This window displays a table that lists the virtual Ethernet adapters that belong to the selected logical partition. If a virtual LAN can access an external network through an Ethernet bridge on a Virtual I/O Server logical partition, this table indicates the virtual Ethernet adapter and the physical Ethernet adapter through which the selected logical partition can access the external network.

This table contains the following information:

Virtual Adapter
This column displays the location code of each virtual Ethernet adapter belonging to the selected logical partition.
Virtual LANs
This column displays the virtual LAN IDs of the virtual LANs on which each virtual Ethernet adapter participates.
I/O Server
This column displays the partition name and partition ID (in parentheses) of the Virtual I/O Server logical partition on which the shared physical Ethernet adapter is located and the Ethernet bridge is configured. This column is blank if none of the virtual LANs are bridged to an external network through a Virtual I/O Server logical partition.
Server Virtual Adapter
This column displays the location code of the virtual Ethernet adapter that is bridged to the shared physical Ethernet adapter on the Virtual I/O Server logical partition. This column is blank if none of the virtual LANs are bridged to an external network through a Virtual I/O Server logical partition.
Shared Adapter
This column displays the location code of the physical Ethernet adapter through which the virtual Ethernet adapter can communciate with an external network. This column is blank if none of the virtual LANs are bridged to an external network through a Virtual I/O Server logical partition.
