Weight

This field indicates the uncapped weight for this uncapped logical partition. You can change this value if desired.

If two uncapped logical partitions require additional processor resources, and there are not enough available processor resources to satisfy the needs of both logical partitions, then the logical partitions receive processor resources in direct proportion to their uncapped weights. For example, the uncapped weight of one logical partition is 200 and the uncapped weight of another logical partition is 100. If both logical partitions require 2.00 processing units, and there are only 0.75 unused processing units available on the managed system, the first logical partition gets 0.50 processing units and the second logical partition gets 0.25 processing units.

The uncapped weight must be a whole number from 0 to 255. The default value for uncapped weight is 128.

This field displays only if the logical partition uses shared processors.

This field is available only when Uncapped is selected.
