Mover service partition

Select this option to designate this Virtual I/O Server logical partition as a mover service partition. This option is available only for Virtual I/O Server logical partitions.

A mover service partition is a Virtual I/O Server logical partition that facilitates the migration of a logical partition from one managed system to another managed system.

You must select this option and complete the following before you can migrate logical partitions using the mover service partition.

• You must activate Advanced POWER Virtualization Enterprise Edition on the managed system (by entering the Advanced POWER Virtualization Enterprise Edition activation code).
• You must configure at least one Virtual Asynchronous Services Interface (VASI) device on the mover service partition. A VASI device is a virtual device unique to active partition mobility that allows the mover service partition to communicate with the hypervisor.
