Displays information about the properties associated with booting the partition (that is, loading its operating system).
IBM i partitions
For IBM i partitions, this information includes the initial program load (IPL) source, the keylock position, and whether or not the partition is automatically started when the system is powered on. The setting for Automatically start with managed system cannot be changed in Partition Properties. It can be changed only in the properties of the profile that is used to activate the partition.
The keylock position, which establishes the power-on and power-off modes allowed for the system, may be Manual or Normal. For security reasons, it is not recommended that you set the keylock position to Manual. The control panel of this server does not contain a physical keylock. You can change any of these properties on this page. The changes take effect immediately.
AIX or Linux partitions
For AIX or Linux partitions, this information includes the boot mode, the keylock position, and whether or not the partition is automatically started when the system is powered on. The setting for Automatically start with managed system cannot be changed in Partition Properties. It can be changed only in the properties of the profile that is used to activate the partition.
The control panel of this server does not contain a physical keylock. You can change any of these properties on this page. The changes take effect immediately.
