Verify whether or not you want this partition to use a redundant paging VIOS configuration on the destination managed system. You can change the existing value by selecting one of the following options:
RequiredSelect this option to require the mobile partition to use a redundant paging VIOS configuration on the destination system. HMC validation will fail if paging VIOS redundancy cannot be achieved on the destination managed system.NoneThis selection is used primarily when migrating a partition from an existing setup that currently supports redundancy.
Select this option to specify that you do not want to configure the migrating partition to use paging VIOS redundancy. If possibleIf you are migrating a shared memory partition, the HMC will search for an independent paging space device on the destination managed system. A device that is not configured to support redundant paging VIOS partitions is an independent paging space device. If an independent paging space device is not found, the HMC will then try to find a common paging space device. A device that is configured to support redundant paging VIOS partitions is a common paging space device. If a common paging space device is found, the HMC will use it as an independent paging space device. So the resulting configuration will not use a redundant paging VIOS partition configuration, even though it acquires a common paging space device that is configured to use redundant paging VIOS partitions.
Select this option to attempt to configure a redundant paging VIOS configuration if one exists. If no redundant configuration is available, the HMC will instead search for and use a paging space device that is not configured to support redundant paging VIOS partitions on the destination managed system.
This field only appears when you are validating the migration of a logical partition that uses shared memory.
