Maximum processing units

Specify the maximum number of processing units that you want the logical partition that is associated with this partition profile to have when you dynamically move processing units. You can commit more processing units to the logical partition only by changing this value in the partition profile properties and reactivating the logical partition associated with this profile.

You cannot specify a value higher than the Maximum number of processors per partition for the managed system. The Maximum number of processors per partition is shown on the Managed System Properties - Processors page.

Although this is the maximum number of processing units that you can commit to the logical partition, an uncapped logical partition can temporarily use more than this number of processing units.

Each processing unit is equivalent to the processing power of one processor.

You can specify the number of processing units up to the hundredths place.
