I/O devices in the profile

This table lists the devices for this partition profile. The list is ordered by unit, bus, and slot. Select the alternate restart device for this partition profile by clicking the Select option for the alternate restart device.

To display the properties of any of the I/O devices in this area, select the device and click Properties.

The table contains the following information:

Unit
This column identifies the unit in which the I/O slot is located.
Bus
This column identifies the bus on which the I/O slot is located.
Slot
This column identifies the slot number that identifies the I/O slot within the unit and bus.
Added
This column displays how the I/O slot has been added to the partition profile. Valid values are Required and Desired.
Description
A description of the I/O device in each slot.
If the I/O device is an I/O processor (IOP), this description is either PCI I/O Processor or I/O Processor.
If the slot is empty, this description is Empty slot.
Otherwise, the wizard uses the first description it finds in the following hierarchy.
  • Description of the custom card identification number (CCIN)
  • Description of the feature code
  • Description of the Peripheral Component Interface (PCI) class code
  • Unknown
Location Code
The location code describing specific locations where I/O devices can be attached to your managed system.
