This field displays the minimum amount of memory that the logical partition that is associated with this partition profile must have to run.
If the memory mode of the logical partition is Shared, this field displays the minimum amount of logical memory with which you want the shared memory partition to operate.
If the memory mode of the logical partition is Dedicated, this field displays the minimum amount of physical memory specified for the logical partition. The logical partition cannot start unless this amount of memory is available to the partition.
When you activate a logical partition that uses dedicated memory, if the desired amount of memory is available on the managed system, the dedicated memory partition starts with the desired amount of memory. However, if the desired amount of memory is not available, but the amount of physical memory is equal to or greater than the minimum amount of memory in the partition profile, the dedicated memory partition starts with the available amount of memory.
You can express the minimum memory amount in gigabytes and megabytes. If you enter a number of gigabytes, the managed system multiplies that number by 1024 and adds the result to the megabytes to obtain the total number of megabytes to use.
Any change you make on this page takes effect only after you shut down and reactivate the logical partition that is associated with this partition profile.
