The maximum number of virtual processors that the logical partition that is associated with this partition profile can have. You cannot dynamically change the virtual processor amount for this logical partition to be higher than the maximum virtual processor amount. You can change the virtual processor amount to a higher number only by changing the maximum virtual processor amount in the partition profile properties and reactivating the partition profile.
The server model or partition operating system can also limit the number of virtual processors that can be used by the logical partition.
The maximum number of virtual processors must be equal to or greater than the maximum number of processing units (rounded up to the next whole number).
Any change you make on this page takes effect only after you shut down the logical partition and reactivate this partition profile.
