Enter CoD Code

Use this window to enter any Capacity on Demand (CoD) codes that you have obtained for your system. This code can be any of the following types of CoD code:

Capacity Upgrade on Demand (CUoD) processor activation code or CUoD memory activation code
Permanently activates processors or memory.

Trial Capacity on Demand (Trial CoD) processor code or Trial CoD memory code

Activates processors or memory for a trial period.

On/Off Capacity on Demand (On/Off CoD) processor enablement code or On/Off CoD memory enablement code

Enables On/Off Capacity on Demand for processors or memory. An On/Off CoD processor enablement code can be accepted only if you are not currently using any Utility CoD processors.

On/Off CoD capacity termination code

Disables On/Off Capacity on Demand for both processors and memory.

Reserve Capacity on Demand (Reserve CoD) capacity prepaid code

Enables Reserve CoD for processors.

Utility Capacity on Demand (Utility CoD) enablement code

Enables 365 power-on days of Utility CoD for processors. A power-on day is a day in which the managed system is powered on. The managed system stops counting Utility CoD power-on days when the managed system is powered off and resumes counting Utility CoD power-on days when the managed system is powered on.

The Utility CoD enablement code also sets the reporting threshold and reporting limit for Utility CoD on the managed system. The managed system disables Utility CoD if the number of unreported Utility CoD processor minutes meets or exceeds the Utility CoD reporting threshold for 30 consecutive power-on days, or if the number of unreported Utility CoD processor minutes ever meets or exceeds the Utility CoD reporting limit. If Utility CoD is disabled for either of these reasons, you must obtain and enter a Utility CoD reporting code before you can enter a Utility CoD enablement code for the managed system.

The managed system accepts a Utility CoD enablement code only if there are no activated On/Off CoD processors on the managed system.

Note: When you enter a new Utility CoD enablement code, the managed system resets the number of Utility CoD power-on days to 365 power-on days. You will lose any Utility CoD power-on days remaining when you enter the new enablement code.

Utility CoD reporting code

Adjusts the number of unreported Utility CoD processor minutes for the managed system. The Utility CoD reporting code signifies that you have reported previous Utility CoD usage on your system. You are responsible for paying for Utility CoD usage in a timely manner. You must obtain and enter a Utility CoD reporting code periodically to keep Utility CoD active on your system.

If you prepay for Utility CoD processor minutes, the Utility CoD reporting code sets the number of unreported Utility CoD processor minutes to a negative number.

Utility CoD termination code

Disables Utility CoD for processors. A Utility CoD termination code is accepted only if there are no activated Utility CoD processors in the default shared processor pool and there are fewer than 100 processor minutes of unreported Utility CoD usage.
