Shared Processor Pool Utilization

Use this window to see the type, distribution, and utilization of processors in the default shared processor pool. Possible values are:

• Type of Processors
  • Non-Reserve CoD: These are active processors that were not activated by Reserve Capacity on Demand (Reserve CoD). If the capacity of the non-Reserve CoD processors can support the workload, only those processors are used.
  • Reserve CoD: These processors are used when the capacity of the non-Reserve CoD processors in the default shared processor pool cannot support the workload. When a Reserve CoD processor is used, a reserve processor day is charged against the Reserve CoD prepaid number of days.
  • Non-Utility CoD: These are active processors that were not activated by Utility Capacity on Demand (Utility CoD). If the capacity of the non-Utility CoD processors can support the workload, only those processors are used. Only managed systems that support Utility CoD will display this information.
  • Utility CoD: These processors are used when the capacity of the non-Utility CoD processors in the default shared processor pool cannot support the workload. Only managed systems that support Utility CoD will display this information.
• Number of processors

  The number of processors in the default shared processor pool for each category.

• Utilization (percent)

  The percentage of the capacity of the processors that is currently being used for each category.
