Force service processor failover

Use this window to force a service processor failover.

The service processor failover capability is designed to eliminate customer outages due to service processor hardware failures. It is managed from the Hardware Management Console (HMC) for a managed system to provide a single point of control to keep both service processors at the same code level.

To force service processor failover:

• The Failure state must be Enabled. This is set on the Set up service processor failover task window.
• Verify the selected system and primary and secondary (or redundant) service processors.

Note: Some tasks may be unavailable while the failover is occurring.
