Use this window to select an advanced power on/power off function for the selected resource.
You can choose to set or reset a service lock.
Attention: This window should only be used by a qualified service representative to prevent system failures or loss of system functions.
Caution: The service lock is the mechanism that prevents power from inadvertently being applied to a locked FRU location. Since multiple users can connect to a single HMC through remote clients, a user could free the service lock obtained by another user who is currently in the middle of a repair action, resulting in a safety issue.
The service lock must be set before the power domain corresponding to the specified location can be powered off or on. You can also choose to activate or deactivate the resources in the power domain corresponding to the specified location. Activating resources returns them to the partitions. Deactivating resources releases them for service. Display Service Effect gives information pertaining to a processor node or processor drawer regarding its readiness for concurrent maintenance.
