Remove From Storage Pool

Use this page to remove selected physical volumes from their current storage pools. This makes the physical volumes available for direct assignment to logical partitions or for assignment to other storage pools.

You can remove a physical volume from its storage pool only if the physical volume does not contain any virtual disk information on it. To continue, you must either delete the virtual disks that are on the physical volumes or use the migratepv command in the command line interface to move the virtual disk information from the physical volume.

This page lists the following information for each selected physical volume.

• Name of the physical volume.
• Name of the storage pool to which the physical volume currently belongs.
• Size of the physical volume in megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB), or terabytes (TB). One GB is equivalent to 1024 MB, and 1 TB is equivalent to 1024 GB.

Force device removal from storage pool.

This option appears only when you attempt to remove a physical volumes from a stroage pool that contains virtual disks that could potentially be destroyed during the removal process. Select this option force removal of the physical volume.
