Common Device list

Displays the paging space devices that can be accessed by both paging VIOS 1 and paging VIOS 2. These devices can be used for a shared memory partition that is configured with redundant paging VIOS partitions. This table displays the device name, size, and indicates whether the device is capable of redundancy.

The VIOS column contains the name of the Virtual I/O Server logical partitions (hereafter referred to as paging VIOS partitions) that have access to each device. The Device Name column contains the names of the devices that can be accessed by both of the two paging VIOS partitions (paging VIOS 1 and paging VIOS 2) assigned to the shared memory pool. The Device Size column contains the size of each device. The Redundancy Capable column indicates whether the device can be accessed by both paging VIOS partitions. A Redundant Capable device, or common paging space device, can be accessed by both paging VIOS partitions. A device that is not Redundant Capable, or independent paging space device, can be accessed by only one paging VIOS partition.

To add one ore more paging space devices to the shared memory pool, select the device and click OK.
