VIOS 1 Device list

Displays the paging space devices that paging VIOS 1 can access.

The VIOS column contains the name of the paging VIOS partition that can access each paging space device. The Device Name column contains the names of the devices belonging to the Virtual I/O Server logical partition (hereafter referred to as a paging VIOS partition) selected as paging VIOS 1. The Device Size column contains the size of each device. The Redundancy Capable column indicates whether the device can be accessed by both paging VIOS partitions. A Redundant Capable device, or common paging space device, can be accessed by both paging VIOS partitions. A device that is not Redundant Capable, or independent paging space device, can be accessed by only one paging VIOS partition.

Note: Even if the device is Redundant Capable, it is Redundant Capable in this shared memory pool only if paging VIOS 2 can access the device. Because both paging VIOS partitions access the same paging space devices, common paging space devices must be located on a storage area network (SAN).

To add a paging space device to the shared memory pool, select the device and click OK.
