Virtual Adapters

This page displays a list of all of the virtual adapters that currently exist for this logical partition or partition profile. This page also allows you to start the creation, change, or removal of a virtual adapter on the logical partition or partition profile.

If you wish to perform an action on a virtual adapter, select the adapter from the virtual adapter table, click Actions, and select the action that you want to perform from the menu. Possible actions include:

Properties
Choose Properties to display the properties of the selected virtual adapter.
Edit
Choose Edit to change the properties of the selected virtual adapter. (This selection is available only for partition profiles.)
Create
Choose Create to create a new virtual adapter. (This selection is available only for partition profiles, or only if you are changing a running logical partition using dynamic logical partitioning.)
Delete
Choose Delete to delete the selected virtual adapter. (This selection is available only for partition profiles, or only if you are changing a running logical partition using dynamic logical partitioning. This selection is not available for the two system-created virtual serial adapters in slots 0 and 1.)

Any changes that you make on this page (or on the windows that you access from this page) take effect only after you click OK.

If you are creating or changing a partition profile, any changes that you make on this page (or on the windows that you access from this page) are not applied to the logical partition until you activate the logical partition using the new or changed partition profile.

Changes that you make to a logical partition using dynamic logical partitioning are not stored automatically in any partition profile.
