This page shows a list of the Host Channel Adapters that have been assigned to the partition.
This page is shown only if one or more Host Channel Adapters are assigned to the logical partition. Host Channel Adapters are not supported for IBM i logical partitions.
The following columns are shown for each adapter:
- Physical location
- The physical location of the adapter on the managed system.
- GUID Index
- A number from 1 through 62 that identifies the actual GUID that is assigned to the partition.
- GUID
- The actual GUID that is assigned to the partition. Each GUID is a 64-bit integer value.
- Capability
- The amount of resource that is allocated to the GUID from the Host Channel Adapter. Possible values in the Capability column are:
- Low
1/16 (6.25%) of the resources of the adapter are allocated to the GUID. Because the resources are not evenly divided, the maximum number of partitions that can be activated with Low is 15.- Medium
1/8 (12.5%) of the resources of the adapter are allocated to the GUID.- High
1/4 (25%) of the resources of the adapter are allocated to the GUID.- Dedicated
All (100%) of the resources of the adapter are allocated to the GUID.- HMC Managed
- Indicates whether the Hardware Management Console (HMC) is able to manage the assignment of the GUIDs. If the value is No, the adapter is in an error state that prevents the HMC from configuring the GUID allocation.
