This page displays information about the I/O slots that are assigned to this logical partition and the I/O adapters that are contained in these I/O slots.
This table contains the following information:
- Unit
- This column displays the unit number of the system unit or expansion unit in which each I/O slot is located.
- Bus
- This column displays the bus number of the bus on which each I/O slot is located.
- Slot
- This column displays the slot ID that identifies each I/O slot within the unit and bus.
- Added
- This column displays whether each I/O slot is required or desired for the logical partition. Required I/O slots cannot be removed from the logical partition using dynamic logical partitioning, but desired I/O slots can be removed from the logical partition using dynamic logical partitioning.
- Description
- This column displays a description of the I/O adapter in each I/O slot. The managed system updates the I/O adapter description only when the physical I/O device belongs to a running logical partition. This information might not be up to date if the logical partition is not running.
- Location code
- This column displays the location code that indicates the physical location of each I/O slot within the managed system.
- Pool ID
- This column displays the identification number of the I/O pool to which each I/O slot belongs. This column displays Unassigned if the I/O slot does not belong to any I/O pool.
If desired, you can click I/O Pools to view and maintain the I/O pools for the logical partition.
