Create Partition

Use this page to identify the new logical partition.

Before you begin this wizard, complete the following:

• Plan how you want to create partition profiles and logical partitions on your managed system.
• Validate your plan and make a paper copy of the plan that you can use to complete this wizard.
• Test the resources on your managed system to ensure that the resources are functional.
  • For a new managed system, start the managed system and test the resources on the managed system.
  • For an existing managed system to which you are adding new logical partitions with new resources, add the new resources dynamically to a working logical partition and test the new resources. After you have tested the resources on that logical partition, you can remove the resources dynamically from the logical partition and use this wizard to create the new logical partition with those resources.
