Desired memory

Displays the desired amount of huge page memory for this partition profile. The number of pages of huge page memory are specified for three memory levels: the minimum memory, the desired memory, and the maximum memory.

When you activate this partition profile, the system commits a huge page memory amount to the logical partition. The number of pages of huge page memory that the system commits to the logical partition depends upon the settings on this page and the availability of system resources.

The Desired memory field specifies the number of pages of huge page memory that you want the logical partition to have when you activate this partition profile. If the managed system has at least this number of pages of huge page memory when you activate this partition profile, then the managed system commits this amount of huge page memory to the logical partition. If the managed system does not have the desired number of pages of huge page memory available, but the managed system has at least the minimum number of pages of huge page memory available, the managed system activates the logical partition with the huge page memory it has.
