Maximum memory

Specify the maximum amount of memory that you want the logical partition that is associated with this partition profile to have.

If the memory mode of the logical partition is Shared, this field specifies the maximum amount of logical memory specified for the shared memory partition.

If the memory mode of the logical partition is Dedicated, this field specifies the maximum amount of physical memory specified for the logical partition.

You can express the maximum memory amount in gigabytes and megabytes. If you enter a number of gigabytes, the managed system multiplies that number by 1024 and adds the result to the megabytes to obtain the total number of megabytes to use.

Do not specify a maximum memory amount that is higher than the maximum amount of memory that the logical partition is likely to use.

Any change you make on this page takes effect only after you shut down and reactivate the logical partition that is associated with this partition profile.
