Utility CoD
Use this window to display information about Utility Capacity on Demand (Utility CoD), including Utility CoD processor, usage, and reporting information. Possible values are:
- Available: A Utility CoD request can be started.
- Available - Reporting Required: Same as Available except usage reporting is required because the reporting threshold has been reached.
- Running: A Utility CoD request is currently active.
- Running - Reporting Required: Same as Running except usage reporting is required because the reporting threshold has been reached.
- Suspended: Utility CoD is enabled, but a Utility CoD request cannot be started because the processor minute usage limit established by the customer has been reached.
- Suspended - Reporting Required: Same as Suspended except usage reporting is required because the reporting threshold has been reached.
- Not Available: Utility CoD is enabled, but a Utility CoD request cannot be started (no processors are available, Trial or On/Off CoD is running, or there are unreturned Trial or On/Off CoD processors).
- Not Available - Reporting Required: Same as Not Available except usage reporting is required because the reporting threshold has been reached.
- Code Not Entered: Utility CoD is not enabled.
- Disabled - Reporting Required: Utility CoD has been disabled on your managed system because Utility CoD usage has not been reported as required. Utility CoD is disabled when one of the following conditions exists:
- The number of unreported Utility CoD processor minutes has met or exceeded the Utility CoD reporting threshold for 30 or more consecutive server power-on days.
- The number of unreported Utility CoD processor minutes has met or exceeded the Utility CoD reporting limit.
If you want to activate Utility CoD processors, report your Utility CoD usage and request a new Utility CoD enablement code at the CoD website. Enter the Utility CoD reporting code first on the HMC, and then enter the Utility CoD enablement code.
