Use Reset or Remove Connection to remove or reset a managed system from the Contents area of the Hardware Management Console (HMC).
If you assign static IP addresses to service processors, and you physically replace one managed system with another managed system without first using this window to remove the old connection from the Contents area, you might need to reboot the HMC before you can remove the old connection from the Contents area.
If you reconnect the managed system to the HMC after you remove the connection, you must use the mksysconn -o auto HMC command to clear the connection history on the HMC before reconnecting the managed system. If you reconnect the managed system to the HMC without first using the mksysconn -o auto HMC command, the HMC does not recognize the managed system.
Select Reset Connection or Remove Connection and click OK.
