Partitions
This page displays the logical partitions that use shared processors on the selected managed system and the shared processor information for each of these logical partitions.
This page displays the following information for each logical partition that uses shared processors on the selected managed system.
- Partition Name (ID)
- This column displays the name of each logical partition. This column also displays the partition ID of each logical partition in parentheses.
- Pool Name (ID)
- This column displays the name of the shared processor pool that is used by each logical partition. This column also displays the pool ID for each shared processor pool in parentheses.
- Assigned Processing Units
- This column displays the number of processing units that are currently assigned to each logical partition. The logical partition is currently entitled to use at least this many processing units from the shared processor pool.
- State
- This column displays the current state of each logical partition. If the state of a logical partition is Not Activated, processing units that are assigned to the logical partition can be used by other logical partitions that use the same shared processor pool.
- Workload Group
- This column displays the group ID of the partition workload group to which each logical partition is assigned (if any). A partition workload group is a group of logical partitions whose resources are managed collectively by a workload management application. Workload management applications can balance memory and processor resources within groups of logical partitions without intervention from the Hardware Management Console (HMC). Workload management applications are installed separately and can be obtained from a solution provider company.
All of the logical partitions that belong to a partition workload group must use the same shared processor pool. You can change the shared processor pool used by a logical partition only if the logical partition does not belong to any partition workload group or if the logical partition is the only logical partition in its partition workload group.
