Select power off option

Use this window to choose how you want the managed system powered off during a disruptive install and activate update. You can allow the HMC to control the power off automatically, or you can control the power off by delaying it until you close all applications you have running on the system, controlling system downtime.

• Select Power off automatically (shortest overall update time) to allow the HMC to power off the managed system automatically, when necessary. This option allows the HMC to control when the power off occurs and ensures the shortest update lapsed time.
• Select Delay power off with confirmation (shortest system down time) to allow you to delay powering off the managed system. When all nondisruptive updates have completed, you will be prompted to quiesce, or close, applications running on the system before continuing with the update. This option allows you to control when the power off occurs and ensures the shortest system down time.
