Targets
Select the target for which
you want to view LIC level system information.
If None was selected, you will see only
information for LIC levels currently loaded on the system.
Installed Level,
Activated Level,
Accepted Level,
Unactivated Deferred Level, and
Platform IPL Level refer
to the current levels on the target.
- If concurrent LIC update is disabled, a field
displays indicating the reason for disablement.
- If there are no corresponding retrievable concurrent and
installable concurrent updates, then those columns display
the value for the installed level.
- If there are no unactivated deferred updates, the Unactivated
Deferred Level will not be displayed.
EC number is the numerical identifier of the engineering change
(EC) that shows the system and GA level.
It has the format of PPNNSSS, where:
- PP is the two-character package identifier.
- NN is the two-character name that identifies a set of platforms.
This is the model-unique code for the type of system.
- SSS is the three-character service pack code stream identifier.
- LIC type
- Displays the LIC type associated with the selected target.
- Machine Type/Model/Serial Number
- Displays the corresponding machine type, model number, and serial number.
- Retrievable Disruptive Activate Level
- Displays the latest, or highest, LIC
level that can be retrieved,
installed, and activated
from the currently selected repository.
Activating this LIC level requires a system restart.
- Retrievable Concurrent Activate Level
- Displays the latest, or highest, LIC level
that can be retrieved, installed, and activated concurrently,
from the currently selected repository
without rebooting any partitions or disrupting applications.
- Installed Level
- Displays the LIC level that will be activated and loaded into memory at the next
system restart.
- Activated Level
-
Displays the LIC level that is activated and loaded into memory.
- Accepted Level
- Displays the LIC level that was committed.
This refers to the updates selected on the system.
This is the backup level of code that you can return to, if necessary.
Generally, this is the level of code on the permanent side (p-side).
- Unactivated Deferred Level
- Displays the latest, or highest installed LIC level that contains
unactivated deferred updates. A deferred update requires a system restart to
activate.
- Platform IPL Level
- Displays the LIC level on which the hypervisor and partition firmware
were last restarted. When concurrent LIC updates are performed, the
Activated Level will change, but the Platform IPL Level will remain
unchanged.
- Update Control
- Displays the current owner of LIC Update control, either HMC or
Operating System.
