View Events

Use this window to specify the utilization events that you want to see. Utilization events are records that contain information about the memory and processor utilization on your managed system at a particular time.

You can set the Hardware Management Console (HMC) to collect utilization data and create utilization events at the following times:

You must set the HMC to collect utilization data for a managed system before utilization data can display for the managed system.

Snapshot/Hourly/Daily/Monthly
Indicate the types of utilization events that you want to display. The following are the options that you can select here and the types of utilization events that display for each option.

Hourly: Hourly periodic utilization events, system-level state and configuration change utilization events, partition-level state and configuration change utilization events, and Hardware Management Console (HMC) start, shutdown, and time-change utilization events

Daily: Daily periodic utilization events

Monthly: Monthly periodic utilization events

Snapshot: Snapshot periodic utilization events, system-level state and configuration change utilization events, partition-level state and configuration change utilization events, and Hardware Management Console (HMC) start, shutdown, and time-change utilization events

Beginning time/date
Indicate the earliest date and time for which you want to display utilization events. The Hardware Management Console (HMC) does not display any utilization events that were created before this date and time.

The default beginning date and time is the current local time on the HMC minus 24 hours.

Ending time/date
Indicate the latest date and time for which you want to display utilization events. The Hardware Management Console (HMC) does not display any utilization events that were created after this date and time.

The default ending date and time is the current local time on the HMC.

Event Type
Indicate the type of utilization events that you want to display: All, Utilization sample, Configuration change, State change, or Utility CoD processor usage
Maximum number of events
Indicate the maximum number of utilization events that you want to display. If there are more than this number of utilization events between the times indicated in the Beginning time/date and Ending time/date fields, the Hardware Management Console (HMC) displays only the maximum number of utilization events. The HMC dislays the latest events before the time in the Ending time/date field.

The default maximum number of utilization events is 200.
