Use this page to reduce the size of the selected storage pool. If you select a Volume Group-based storage pool, you can remove physical volumes from it. This makes the physical volumes available for direct assignment to logical partitions or for assignment to other storage pools. If you select a file-based storage pool, the storage pool is deleted and the space that was allocated to it is returned to its parent storage pool.
You can remove a physical volume from a storage pool only if the physical volume does not contain any virtual disk information on it. To continue, you must either delete the virtual disks that are on the physical volumes or use the migratepv command in the command line interface to move the virtual disk information from the physical volume.
This field displays the name of the selected storage pool.
This table lists the physical volumes that belong to the selected storage pool. This table only displays if the selected storage pool is a Volume Group-based storage pool. To remove physical volumes from the storage pool, select the Select option beside the physical volumes that you want to remove and click OK.
The list includes the following information for each physical volume.
This field displays only when the storage pool you have selected to reduce contains virtual disks that could be destroyed when the pool is reduced. Select this option to proceed with reducing the storage pool.
