Use this panel to view the identifiers, size, and state of the storage pool.
This area displays general storage pool properties
This field displays the name of the storage pool.
This field displays the system-generated 32-character storage pool identifier for this storage pool. This identifier can be used instead of the storage pool name to identify the storage pool in the command line interface. This field does not display for file-based storage pools.
This field displays the total size of this storage pool in megabytes (MB). If the size is greater than 1024 MB, the size also displays in gigabytes (GB).
This field displays the amount of storage on this storage pool that is available for assignment to virtual disks. The amount of available storage displays in megabytes (MB). If the size is greater than 1024 MB, the size also displays in gigabytes (GB).
This field displays the type of storage pool. The type of storage pool can be either Volume Group based or File based. A type of Volume Group based indicates that the storage uses a traditional Volume Group. A type of File based indicates that the storage pool uses a file for storage.
This field displays the state of the storage pool. This field does not display for file-based storage pools. Possible values are as follows:
This field displays the name of the Volume Group based storage pool from which the file based storage pool was created. This field displays only for file-based storage pools.
This field displays the size of each physical partition in the storage pool. This represents the smallest increment in which you can assign storage to virtual disks from the storage pool. The size displays in megabytes (MB). This field does not display for file-based storage pools.
When you add a physical volume to a volume group, the physical volume is partitioned into contiguous, equal-sized units of space called physical partitions. A physical partition is the smallest unit of storage space allocation and is a contiguous space on a physical volume. Physical volumes inherit the volume group's physical partition size.
This field displays the number of physical partitions that are in the storage pool. This number multiplied by the physical partition size equals the size of the storage pool. This field does not display for file-based storage pools.
This field displays the number of physical partitions in this storage pool that are free to be allocated to virtual disks. This field does not display for file-based storage pools.
This field displays the number of physical partitions in this storage pool that have already been allocated to virtual disks. This field does not display for file-based storage pools.
This field displays the names of the physical volumes that are currently assigned to this storage pool.
