Storage Pools

Use this tab to view the properties of the storage pools on your managed system and to start storage pool maintenance tasks.

The toolbar at the top of the Storage Pools table contains tasks that you can perform. To perform most tasks, you must select a single storage pool in the table before you select the task that you want to perform. You can select a storage pool by clicking the Select option beside the appropriate entry in the table.

The table includes the following information about each storage pool:

Name
This column displays the name of each storage pool.
Total size
This column displays the total size of each storage pool in megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB), or terabytes (TB). This includes unassigned storage and storage that is already assigned to virtual disks.
Available size
This column displays the amount of storage in each storage pool that is available for assignment to virtual disks. This amount displays in megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB), or terabytes (TB).
Type
This column displays the type of storage pool. The type of storage pool can be either Disk-Backed or File-Backed. A type of Disk-Backed indicates that the storage uses a traditional Volume Group. A type of File-Backed indicates that the storage pool uses a file for storage.

You can sort this table by any of these categories by clicking the appropriate column heading.

Tasks

The following tasks are available from the toolbar at the top of the Storage Pools table. To perform most tasks, you must select a single storage pool in the table before you select the task that you want to perform. You can select a storage pool by clicking the Select option beside the appropriate entry in the table.
