Use this page to add media file to the virtual media library and make it available for assignment to a partition. You can select one of the following methods for adding a media file:
If you select this option, you must also provide information for the Optical media file name and Media name fields. Specify the path and file name of the media file that you want to add to the media library. This field displays only when you select Add an existing file.
If you select this option, you must also provide information for the Media name field. Specify the name of the media file that you want to add to the media library and select the physical optical device that contains the media file. You can select the physical optical device that contains the media file from the Physical Optical Device table that displays with this field. This field displays only when you select Import for physical optical device.
Specify the name of the media file that you want to add to the media library and select the physical optical device that contains the media file.
Virtual media names can not exceed 38 characters in length, and the following characters can not be used:
\ / - . & * $ ; ' | ? < > ^ ( ) [ ] { } Specify the home directory and file name of the media file that you want to add to the media library. This field displays only when you select Add an existing file.
Optical media file names can not exceed 38 characters in length, and cannot contain the following characters:
\ & * $ ; ' | ? < > ^ ( ) [ ] { } Specify a device from the list of avialable physical optical devices that the VIOS partition currently owns. This field displays only when you select Import from physical optical device.
Specify the size of the blank media file you want to create by entering a whole numeric value and then select to create the file in Megabytes (MB), Gigabytes (GB), or Terabytes (TB).
