Guided Setup

Use the Guided Setup wizard to configure your Hardware Management Console (HMC) for the first time. This wizard directs you through making decisions on how you want your HMC installed and enabled.

Proceed through each page in the wizard. When you complete a task on a page, click Next to navigate to the next page.

The user IDs referred to in this wizard are the user IDs for this HMC, not the operating systems. Predefined passwords for hscroot and root should be changed immediately.

• Use the hscroot user ID to access the user interface and manage the HMC.
• A service provider uses the root user ID to perform maintenance on the server.
