Domain suffix

Type the Domain suffix for the Domain Name Server (DNS).

The DNS allows names to be used on the network to find IP addresses, rather than the dotted-decimal notation number string. The Domain suffix is an extension of the DNS, one of the four parts that make up the Internet address of the DNS; a server prefix, a Domain name, a Domain suffix, and an optional country or region code.

If you do not know or are not sure of your Domain name, contact your network or system administrator.

A Domain suffix:

• Must be three (3) to 255 alphanumeric characters in length, arranged in parts separated by a period (.)
• Must consist of at least two (2) but no more than five (5) parts
• Each part must be one (1) to 63 alphanumeric characters in length consisting of zero (0)-9, a-z, A-Z, or the dash character (-)
• Each part must begin and end with an alphanumeric character.
