What's new in the information center
In addition to the following items, the information center now includes general technical updates to existing information about your IBM eServer(TM) hardware. Also, some information has been consolidated or redesigned to make it easier to find and use.Quick start guides
The information center now includes printable versions of the Quick start guide that is included with your server. The Quick start guide offers an abbreviated set of instructions designed to help you quickly unpack and set up your server. Quick start guides are included with the following servers:
- IBM eServer p5 510
- IBM eServer i5 520
- IBM eServer p5 520
- IBM eServer OpenPower(TM) 710
To find the Quick start guide for your server, see Using predefined initial server setup checklists and select the checklist that best fits your needs.
Searching for reference codes
You can now search for specific reference codes.
- To find a specific system reference code (SRC) or progress code, type only the first 4 characters of the code in the search field. Some reference codes are categorized in ranges; so if your search produces no results, try replacing the last character in the string with an x. For example, if you get no search results for B63F, try B63x, and then B6xx.
- To find a specific service request number (SRN), type the initial characters up to but not including the hyphen (if the SRN has one). For example, to find SRN 709-111, search for 709.
