SAN Volume Controller 2145-8G4 connectors

The external connectors consist of fibre-channel, serial, and Ethernet ports, and the power supply.

Figure 1 shows the external connectors on the SAN Volume Controller 2145-8G4 back panel assembly.

  • Reference key number one identifes fibre-channel port 1. Fibre-channel port 1

Figure 2 shows the type of connector that is located on the power supply assembly. The connector enables you to connect the SAN Volume Controller 2145-8G4 to the power source from the uninterruptible power supply.

SAN Volume Controller 2145-8G4 ports used during service procedures

The SAN Volume Controller 2145-8G4 contains a number of ports that are only used during service procedures. These ports are shown in Figure 3.

  • Reference key number one identifies the system management port. System management port
  • Reference key number two identifies the four USB ports, two on the front and two on the rear. Four USB ports, two on the front and two on the rear
  • Reference key number three identifies the two monitor ports, one on the front and one on the rear. Two monitor ports, one on the front and one on the rear

During normal operation, none of these ports are used. Connect a device to any of these ports only when you are directed to do so by a service procedure or by your IBM® service representative.

SAN Volume Controller 2145-8G4 ports not used

The SAN Volume Controller 2145-8G4 has no unused ports.
