Use the Adding Ports to Host panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to
add additional ports to a host. For hosts that
attach to the cluster using fibre channel connections, each port has a worldwide port name (WWPN)
that is associated with it. You can only add WWPNs that are logged
in and that are not configured. For hosts that
attach to the cluster using iSCSI connections, you must add iSCSI
qualified name (IQN) to identify the iSCSI-attached host to the cluster.
Fields
You
can update the following fields:
- Connection Type
- Select the type of connection that the host uses to attached to
the cluster. The following options are available:
- Fibre Channel
- Select this option if the host attaches to the cluster through
fibre channel connections. If you select this options, then specify
the following attributes for the fibre channel connection:
- Available Ports
- Select the worldwide port names (WWPNs) to assign to this host.
After you have clicked a WWPN, click Add.
- Selected Ports
- Use this field to deselect the WWPNs that you selected in the
Available Ports field. After you have clicked a WWPN, click Remove.
- Additional Ports
- Use this field to enter in the WWPNs for any additional ports.
- Do not validate WWPNs
- Select this option if you do not want to validate the selected
WWPNs.
- iSCSI
- Select this option if the host attaches to the cluster through
iSCSI connections. If you select this option, then specify the following
attributes for the iSCSI connection:
- iSCSI Initiator (IQN name, one per line)
- Enter the iSCSI qualified name for the host.
Actions
The
following actions are available:
- OK
- Click this button to add a port to the host.
- Cancel
- Click this button to exit the panel without exit this panel without
adding a port to a host.
