Signing on to the cluster

Use the Sign On to the Cluster panel in the SAN Volume Controller Console to authenticate to the selected cluster.

Introduction

If the SAN Volume Controller cluster is running version 5.1.0 or later of the SAN Volume Controller software, you can sign in to the cluster using the either of the following user name and password combinations:

  • User name is superuser and the password is the cluster superuser password. If you do not know the cluster superuser password, you can reset it from the front panel of a node, or by issuing svctask chuser command from the command-line interface.
  • A user name and password that matches any user that is currently defined on the cluster.

If the SAN Volume Controller cluster is running version 4.3.1 of the SAN Volume Controller software, you can sign in to the cluster using either of the following user name and password combinations:

  • User name is superuser and the password is the cluster administrator password. If you do not know the cluster administrator password, you can reset it from the front panel of a node, or by issuing the svctask chcluster -admpwd command from the command-line interface.
  • A user name and password that you migrated from the SAN Volume Controller Console version 4.3.1 using the User Migration Utility during the upgrade of the SAN Volume Controller Console.
